Jesus and the Rusk County Library
A Sonbeam from warren and mary beth powell
Our life is a bit on the hectic side right now, so the two library
books I had checked out did not get read by the due date. So I put
on my errand list to take them back on Tuesday (the day they were
due) but - you know it - it didn't happen until Wednesday (1 day
late).
The lady at the counter was very nice as she took my 20 cents (10
cents per day per book - I love my small-town life!) and re-checked
my books for another 2 weeks. When she entered the payment of my
fine into the computer, it cleared my record with the library as
though I had never had an overdue book.
My slate is completely wiped clean - you know, the way our sins are
completely wiped clean by the blood of Jesus - once and for all.
When God forgives, there is no record remaining to condemn us for
what Jesus' blood has already paid for.
So how 'bout it? Got any overdue library books, that is unconfessed
sin? The Great Librarian is ready to wipe your slate clean, just for
the asking.
Into His Word
"On the other hand, if we admit our sins--make a clean breast of
them--he won't let us down; he'll be true to himself. He'll forgive
our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing." 1 John 1:9 The Message
"As a priest, Christ made a single sacrifice for sins, and that was
it! Then he sat down right beside God……It was a perfect sacrifice by
a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that
single offering, he did everything that needed to be done for
everyone who takes part in the purifying process." Hebrews 10:12, 14
